Handmade Tonga basket handwoven using the over and under the style of ‘simple’ weaving. The basket is finished using a coiled rim with a distinctive herringbone pattern. These baskets are made from all-natural and locally harvested materials such as wild grasses, small vines, and palm leaves dyed with tree bark. A 16-inch diameter basket can take around two weeks to complete. The largest-sized bowls are still used by the Tonga people for their original purpose of winnowing grains. This Fair-Trade Tonga basket was handmade at The Binga Craft Centre in Zimbabwe by the Tonga women. Your purchase of this basket contributes to a sustainable income source for women in this very difficult area, as well as supporting the continuation of traditional crafts. We don't manage the stock in our factory and warehouse. Actual stock levels may fluctuate at any moment. Be aware that it's possible that your order will be out of stock after you have placed the order.
Our policy is for 30 days. Unfortunately, if 30 days have passed from the date you purchased the product, we are unable to offer you a return or exchange.
