This Kisii Soapstone Coaster Set is handmade by the Gusii artisans in Kenya, East Africa. Kenya’s Kisii region contains vast deposits of steatite, known as soapstone and locally as Kissii stone. Gusii artisans specialize in the carving of the soft stone creating functional art collected around the world. The Gusii art is embellished with its own unique markings. The coaster features decorative accents inspired by African culture and a safari animal in the center of each coaster.
